The social cooler is the successor to the alpha version of our Social Machines product the Foursquare Lockbox. The cooler was designed to both unlock and open automatically at 5 Foursquare checkins, revealing free drinks inside. This version is powered by an Arduino microprocessor and a heavy duty servo. The Foursquare monitoring is done on a remote server that sends push-like notifications to the Arduino, triggering the unlock sequence.
