With more brands recognizing the growing opportunity to engage users via Facebook and other social platforms, the concept of Crowdly was formed. This highly customizable product had to have an engaging identity that embodied the friendly sharing and liking opportunity that the social platforms were embodying. The most difficult part of concepting the logo for this product was the fact that basically was an umbrella brand that included all of the social networks into it — and the personality had to show that.
Various concepts that were introduced and ultimately inspired the final design included the idea that Crowdly was a way to pinpoint, or locate the crow you needed, hence the inclusion of the ‘location point’ icon into the logo. The other concept involved the crowds being simulated by small little characters or creatures, which simplified into particles later on in the website development.
Logo creation included sketching and ideating, secondary logo ideas, and various color scheming.
